“Art has to be for larger social change.” (Samar Jodha, TEDxDubai 10.10.09)
Idea Worth Sharing
Samar Jodha lived in about 20 countries growing up. He believes that photography is an amazingly powerful tool. For the last 10 years he has focused on conflict issues (for example urbanization and consumption). Jodha does not believe in being a spectator photographer. Capacity building and involvement is his mission. He has set up an ecotourism projects, works with education, and textile revival. Marginalised communities are all over the planet. He focuses on empowerment, education, and income generation in these communities. As an artist how much are you into your art and how much are you into the larger world?
